Push a change
Send configuration lines to one device with a preview, a typed yes and a real diff.
Before you begin
- You need Push config.
- Know the exact commands. Retivo sends exactly the lines you type, one by one, as if you typed them after logging in.
Note
Retivo adds nothing: no configure terminal, end, commit or write memory. Include them yourself where the device needs them.
Steps
- Open the device and press Push config.
- Type the lines and a short description of the change.
- Press Read live config and preview. Retivo reads the live configuration and shows exactly what will be sent.
- Type
yesto send. - Retivo shows the device's output and the real before and after, and saves the result as a new version with your description.
If the device's configuration changed between the preview and your yes, the push is refused. Preview again.
Examples
configure terminal
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1
description Uplink
end
write memory
config system interface
edit "port1"
set description "Uplink"
next
end
To undo a change
Push the reverse lines, or restore the version from before the push. There is no automatic rollback.
